The Design Process We had to make a mars lander that can withstand the rocky terrain. The first thing we did was research and look at the Sphero EDU website to gather ideas and information. Then we had a play around with the Sphero in groups, the Sphero is a really fun gadget to play with. We then had a group brainstorm on what materials/tools we needed to make a mars lander. This brainstorm included tires, suspension, 4K cameras, solar panels. Mars The bright color of mars is due to its iron-rich minerals in its surface. Mars is known to have the highest mountain and deepest valley in the whole solar system. Channels, valleys and gullies are all over Mars, and there is also no water only ice, Mars is very cold due to its distance from the sun and the average temperature is -80 Fahrenheit. The challenges a Mars lander would take on are the big rocks and tall mountains on mars. Mars has similar terrain as some places on Earth it has canyons, volcanoes, big rocks and dry p...

English - S-E-X-Y Paragraph

Image
In English we wrote a SEXY paragraph and we chose a particular person that is an inspiration and a hero to us. The man who I admire is LeBron Raymone James Sr, He was born on December 30th 1984 and born in Akron, Ohio. LeBron also plays in the NBA for the Cleveland Cavaliers, He is a father of 2 sons and 1 daughter. He is my hero, he has overcome all odds and wears his heart on his sleeve, He puts 110% into everything he does, He is humble on and off the court and has been a leader for his team since he was 18. He came into the NBA at age 18, so he was still a teenager he skipped University to chase his dreams and his passion, He is now known to many people as the G.O.A.T. LeBron James is so successful in the NBA and outside of the NBA as well, he has his own shoe called LeBrons , he has donated to several charities throughout his career. Shantytown

Image
On Monday Te Hiringa visited Shantytown, to learn about the early maori, pounamu and a man called Kehu. When we first got to Shantytown she told us all the rules and the  boundaries, Then we entered the room with all the the pounamu and fossils. Then we went to make huts in the forest, we walked a track to get to the area we were separated into 3 groups of 4 and there was 1 adult to each group. All of the huts were amazing and it was fun to pick up sticks and ferns. She then separated the tuakana from the teina, we learnt about Kehu and all the amazing stuff he did, Some people call him superman. Then we walked across a narrow bridge made of a log, And had a Christmas service like Kehu, we all had to sit on mats and we proceeded to say a series of priers and one of the students told the Christmas story. In conclusion Shantytown was a good trip and a good experience.
